Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine. On its major cities. 44 ballistic and cruise missiles and 659 drones were fired in several waves of attacks. The targets were mostly building where people live.
The Russians killed at least 14 people. More than 90 were injured.
In Kyiv, 5 people were killed, including a 12-year-old boy. 45 were injured. The Podil, Obolon, Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi districts were hit. In one of them, a drone crashed into a residential building.
In Odesa, the attack claimed 7 lives and injured at least 11 others. Homes and infrastructure were struck. Explosions shattered windows, destroyed apartments, and drove people into the streets.
In Dnipro, 2 people were killed and 27 injured, several of them seriously.
In Kharkiv, a family house burned down after being hit. Another one of many.
This was not an “operation.” This was an attack on innocent people in their sleep. The sirens did not stop. It felt like the explosions would never end.
I always pause to think about how Ukraine rises again in the morning. How cities start to pulse with life, and people rush to work - exhausted, frightened, drained. This has been going on for more than four years. How long can it continue?
